This weekend, a friend of mine gave me the book The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron .  I'm having a hard time putting it down and it has struck so many chords with me that I had to share.  The insights I'm finding in this book are helping me to be open to my own creativity.

I realize this book has been around for a while, but I didn't know about it.  I'm very grateful to my friend for giving it to me.

Just wanted to share for those of you who may find it beneficial too.

The journaling helps immensely. I have done this book twice, the second time with a group, some artists some writers. Even if you only journal on the weekends when you have time for your art it takes the "editor" out and allows a critique-free creative time. Good luck.

I read it earlier this year and it helped me get out of a horrible art funk. Even if you don't follow everything exactly you will gain some valuable insight into creativity.
