Buying a big format printer

For quite a while, I've been wanting a big format printer so I can print photos, posters and reproductions of my art work in a 12 by 18 or larger size. We are looking at the Epson R1900. Also, I am wondering about the HP B8850. I have a HPdeskjet 5550 which I have loved and will continue to use for small projects. The HP ink costs are intimidating. Thoughts from any of you would be welcome.

Dwight,

Are you using your printer with PhotoShop?

Please send the supply web site. Thanks!

Monti-

As an owner of the Epson R1900 I can tell you I love this printer! I was paying outrageous prices for terrible prints from the local photo lab. The second print I made with the R1900 was far and away superior to any prints I had purchased.

Ink costs me about $90 to replace but not all at once. I seem to use a lot more of yellow and cyan than any other color. I printed about 30 13"x19" prints along with 80 8.5"x11" prints and a few 4"x6" prints before replacing the yellow cartridge. I would be happy to supply you with the web site for the supplies if you wish.
