I forgot all the words to the national anthem. I woke up this morning, July 5th, still feeling that wave of patriotism and I started humming the tune. And then I went blank on the words. What's that part about ramparts? What's a rampart? Am I the only one?

You're funny : )....What's a rampart? Am I the only one?

"Who's broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming."

A rampart is an "embankment built around a space for defensive purposes".

I kind of figured it was a wall but never knew the exact definition until now. Thanks!
