I'm jealous

I'm jealous of all you artists that have adequate creative space. I've seen some studios that have plenty of desk and easel space, great lighting, lots of area to spread work or tools out and some even have a view out a window. All I have is this small corner. Pitiful, huh? The natural and lamp lighting is poor and as you can see I have nowhere to place anything so I have to use a small tray, the floor, that ottoman you see nearby, and occasionally a stool as well. I have to tape my reference material to the wall. Painting late at night in my corner is probably similar to what it was like in the 1700's. We have a guest room that is only used once a year when the mom-in-law visits and my wife says we can convert it to a studio soon. Can't wait till I have my studio!

I just got home from the golf course and it's time to jump in the shower and get clean and cool down. It's scorching down here today! The afternoon t-storms are moving in...

(If I could figure out how to post a picture in here I'd show you my space...)

I have a great studio now,but I've had three or four cramped spaces like yours.  Its amazing how artists like you and I can produce quality works in such limited space.  My hats off to you for your great works!!

Scan over the pic with your cursor till it gets that funky color and then right click,  choose copy,  and when entering it here hit Ctrl and V at the same time.

Hmmm...You know all rooms have pretty big ceilings.  Perhaps you could tack rolls of vellum up there, lay back on your scaffold and SCALE UP!  I know of famous artists who used hot wax to stick candles on their foreheads to see their work, give it a try and let me know........

As for me, I have decided to stop renting the perfect large studio space with a loft, big windows, space to think big, couch to nap, and fridge for cold ones.  Problem there is working all the time to pay the rent and gas!

Enjoy the heat.
