About Me: After studying art at Bremen High School, North Central College, and Northern Illinois University (Bachelors and Masters Degrees) I taught art for four years in Mount Prospect School District 57 before entering the field of advertising at Leo Burnett for four more years.
In 1976, I entered financial services and have headed my own company to date, doing financial planning for individuals and employee benefits for businesses.
I stopped painting in 1973 and resumed in 2000 doing mostly portraits. Late in 2004 I began painting abstracts and started showing them the following summer.

People ask why he uses the name “Keyes.” Shortly after graduating college I sketched some nudes, my “naked lady” pictures. My mother, half-jokingly, told me not to put my real name on them. So I used “Keyes” which was a name I had made up as a child. I’ve used that name ever since.
