Title: Thanksgiving Week

Blog Entry: I hope everyone is enjoying the afterglow of a great Thanksgiving Day with pleasant company. We do have things to be thankful for, including the hope that the new administration will restore confidence in our country and bring home our servicemen soon. This week is a busy bittersweet time for me. My now 12 year old nephew, who was named Mark in honor of my son, celebrated his birthday on Tuesday. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on Wednesday and this year we had a private Thanksgiving celebration at home. Friday is the anniversary of the death of our only child, Dr. Mark Blue. As Kathe Kollwitz noted, in the end you have to turn to your art work for serenity. I am deeply involved with curating two art exhibitions for the hob'art cooperative gallery. The first show, "Our Hoboken," opens at the Sovereign Bank in Hoboken on December 5th and continues until February 14, 2009. It features small artworks by seven members of the group. The mediums represented in the exhibit include photography, collage, and painting on silk. I will be exhibiting with the same artists in the second show, "hob'art's Hoboken," at the Hoboken Historical Museum. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009, and will close with a panel discussion by some of the artists on Sunday, April 12th. Each event will be from 2 to 5 p.m. If possible, please visit both exhibitions.
