Blog Entry: I find it exhilarating to study the actual subjects of God’s handiwork. The experience of translating what I see into my painting gives a felt sense of connection to life in that moment oftime. My painting is a celebration of light and color. Light is a metaphor of Christ the creator. Light reveals color, exposing immediate substance. It connects me with today. It reveals depth and details which shape, giving the sense of reality to an image. Light communicates exciting relationships, nuances that continuously change, yet have a timeless source. The subjects in my work also reflect celebration of life. Friendship, family, nature, all of life is affected by changes. Yet Light remains constant, illuminating, coloring changes in life.
