Blog Entry: --News— It has been a busy month. I enjoyed my recent exhibitions. It has been nice to show such a large range of pieces. Both shows went quite well and I thank everyone who came on out. I also had the chance to give my first formal presentation. It was great to see my little postcard sized pieces at more than 20' tall on the screen. At least 75 people showed up to hear me talk about my work. There has been a lot of "busy work" this month. I have been applying to more shows and exploring new options and opportunities. So, I have been spending a lot of time in the studio - but not working on new pieces. Soon I am going to be starting a larger piece--actually the largest I have made to date--and have been getting things in order to get this started. I have things set up, so I hope to begin soon. I want to invite everyone to the Greenbelt Art Walk this Thursday, 10/16/08, from 6-9pm. We will be having refreshments and my studio mates Tom Baker and Russ Little and I will be having a community collage project supplies ready for everyone to create their own work of art. The Art Walk includes exhibit receptions, live music, indie film shorts, hands-on-arts, a studio open house and more. It's all happening at the Community Center, New Deal Cafe, and Greenbelt Arts Center. My studio space in the Community Center. -- more information (pdf) -- Another event to add to your calendar is Sunday, November 2 from 1-4. I will be leading a community project as part of my studio's Artful Afternoon. We'll be making paper lanterns. Come on by and make one for yourself and another one as part of Greenbelt's "Festival of Lights" tree lighting on Friday December 5th. The activity is geared to kids of all ages. -- samples / more information -- (pdf) --Recent artworks— Clutter 10.25″x 13.25″ :: Wanted to try something a little different - more freeform and abstract.
