jazz while painting but heck there's hardly any music I don't like.

'Franz Marc - the retrospective', by Anagret Hoberg. 'The obstacle Race - The fortunes of Women Painters and Their Work' by Germaine Greer. I don't read as much fiction as I used to, but always enjoy a Stephen King thriller.

Dianne currently resides at Doubtless Bay in the Far North of New Zealand’s
North Island. A New Zealander of indigenous Maori and Celtic descent,
her love affair with art began as a preschooler when she scribbled and drew mostly
non-figurative abstracts with brilliantly colored crayons on every piece of blank
paper she could acquire.
Growing up on her parents beef and sheep farm, where she got to ride horses much
of the time, fostered an early interest in animals which feature in much of her
artwork today.
A long time fan of German expressionist Franz Marc (1880-1916), Dianne is
often inspired by his prolific collection of colorful animal paintings.
Dianne’s preferred medium to paint with is oils when painting in a semi realistic
style and acrylics for her more jazzed up, spontaneous, non-figurative pieces.
Whatever the subject, her aim is to capture a feeling of free flowing energy
and exude this in her painting. Encouraged mostly by people remarking ‘how
happy’, her paintings make them, this spurs her on to keep creating the way
she does as much as, if not more so than the numerous sales she has made of her paintings over
recent years.

Your work is lively, colorful, and fun to view. I love the freedom of your strokes. You asked for opinions on your wallpaper. For me, it is a little busy and distracted me from your beautiful work.....respectfully I offer these thoughts.

Thank you for your comment on my Mother Hummingbird charcoal drawing.

Hey Yall,

Just leave a message here if you think my profile wallpaper is a bit too glary and bright for your poor eyes.

This is an Acrylic abstract I painted 5 yrs ago called 'Spring Bursts' and as we're bursting into springtime down here in NZ I thought it quite fitting to splash some color around.

There's tons of great Artwork on here, so much so I have to drag myself away from the screen to do anything else - like paint.

Enjoy your look around and don't be shy to say 'Hi'!

Dianne
