I love the outdoors and just about anything to do with that. I've loved horses and the country life style since I was knee high to my grandpa. He taught me about horses and fueled my passion for them by letting me tag along, teaching me to ride and to harness the work horses. As I grew older, my dad taught me about the outdoors, how to shoot with a little single-shot .22 and later how to shoot skeet with a 20 gage. He's been there during all of my hunting trips and was responsible for teaching me how to "see". If you pay attention to your surroundings you'll see animals that you probably would've never noticed before...animals that stand as still as can be and just watch you back. He's always observing things, paying attention to details, and looking beyond the initial image. He is one of my best critics today....and I love him for it. I've been oil painting since 2002 but have loved the creative process and drawing since I was little.

Beautiful scenery viewed from the back of a horse, the seat of a john boat, or by traveling on my own two feet. That feeling you get when you see something that you just know you have to paint! Talking with other people that are as passionate about my subject matter as I am. Late night painting. Seeing a piece of country I've never seen before. Chatting with people who appreciate my work and stop to share the memories that my work triggered.

Snobby people. Life's too short to waste it being unfriendly and uncaring. No time to paint.... Stress and the rush it causes us. I would love for life to take a few steps backwards....and slowdown a bit.
