I have an affinity for the underdog. I have always befriended those who were outcasts or people who were misunderstood, cheated out of life and so on. I have always advocated for others but have left myself out in the rain (I don't do that anymore, thank you!)
I lived in Tucson, Arizona for 24 years where I did the two hardest things that I could have ever done. I have triumphed over my own pain and helped others the best I know how. I moved from Tucson to Iowa about 4 years ago.
I love the earth, the mountains have been my source of strength for many years. The desert provided a place in which my old self could wither away and a new one reborn. (Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes) I am not perfect, in fact I am a work in progress and always will be. I honor the place in which I meet you and in spirit we are connected to the whole.

Your work is interesting.  Is there a southwest influence showing through?

Hi Brett, glad you enjoy my Nude on Green Background!  You have great color in your work and lots of joy too. Even the skeletons look like they are having fun! Reminds me of some Mexican celebrations. Cheers, from OZ, Lina

Hi Brett,  thanks for your comment on my painting called Birdie

I don't know what a paper prayer is either....

this painting was done with heavy texture and a stnecil I made.  laid the stencil on to the prime canas  (bird and tree)  and then applied the texture.. then removed the stencil so that the bird and tree are inset into the painting...the opposite was done on the bottom

 Love your Spring shower painting

Your 'spring shower" reminds me of a Charles Burchfield. Nice stuff.
