I'm a British artist, and I now live with my husband in the USA. I made a career in the UK painting rock climbers, and had my own gallery in Wales until 2005. I sold up to travel, went on a climbing/painting road trip through Canada and America, met Taylor and decided to stay. I have a studio in Tahoe, and I sell my art through galleries and other events. Last year I started doing a painting a day, after finding some inspiring artists doing the same thing on the web. I now paint a little oil on panel (almost) every day, and sell it on Ebay. I'm selling these paintings at a fraction of the price they would sell for in a gallery, so they're a bargain for collectors, and a fun motivator for me.

Rock Climbing, tea, sunshine, lavender, funny films, my husband.

B.O, damp climates, cupboard doors left open

Rock Climbing, Snowboarding, reading books

Shelley, for the Echinacea  I used my own stencils  I cut the flower out and use the space stencil  and i also use the cut out piece.  bas relief I guess the one technique is called.

for texture i use a heavy medium that I created myself.  and I fill the stencil or I coat over the solid stencil....in the close up you can see how both work on the painting...hope I haven't totally confused you.

after the heavy texture dries i go back and paint with the colors and washes...

I have several pieces like this...you can check them in my gallery...on some of them I think I have explained the technique i created.

thanks for your questions

sweet..I had a feeling....I think  I do understand  what you are saying about how we always are looking at others and their experiences...

anyway, synchronicity..is LIFE...only half the time we do not realize the incredible flow of life.....Until we do... and those days are miraculous..

I'm so glad you love Tahoe...I used to live in Berkeley only a few hours away...We traveled up to Tahoe and area quite regularly.  Emerald Bay...Truckee.. lots of hikes, camping and enjoying the beauty there.

yes it is! I love living here, it's beautiful. The idea behind the painting was that i'd spent so many years moving around I always felt like I was looking in on other people's homes/lives from the outside. I was out bringing in the washing one evening and the scene inside was so warm and cozy i had to paint it - and then I thought "I should be in there" so I painted myself in conversation with Taylor.
