My current work is founded upon a concern for the environment as well as social and political issues. With this in mind, I begin with shredded recycled newspapers and magazines that are mixed with a slurry of reclaimed clay. This becomes my medium of choice to recontextualize contemporary issues inspired by articles in the same recycled newspapers and magazines. My ideas are brought to enduring form by turning the newspaper pages into the pages of books, globes, mechanical components and the human figure. I use these four recurring elements to comment on the impact of information, technology, knowledge and globalization.

I like to use paper clay too, but I'm lazy and buy it pre-made. Also I don't have a clay mixer or a pugmill. I was looking at your website and wondering if you've shown at John Natsoulas Gallery? Do you go to the conference there each year? I think it's much harder to appreciate three dimensional work online than two dimensional. The photos of your work are very good, but still it's hard to get a feel for what it must be like in person. I really like crusty glazes, that you probably use, judging from your background. Do you make your own glazes? What cone do you fire to?
