My number one favorite musician is Peter Gabriel, however I listen to quite a variety of music from classical to jazz, some other favorites are Annie Lennox, Indigo Girls, Paul Scwartz ARIA and ARIA 2, Julia Othmer I could go on and on...

I am currently reading Jack White's books about how to make a living as an artist-they are wonderful. You can download them from www.senkarikstuff.com if you don't have them already.

The Wizard of Oz is my favorite.

I have been practicing art from the moment I could pick up a pencil. Painting and drawing is my lifelong passion. I love the energy I get from the act of creating. I have just returned from the Artexpo NYC 2008 and it was great experience! I made some sales and I was picked up by a gallery in Marblehead, Massachusetts. I made lots of new contacts who I have been and will be following up with for the coming weeks! My beach scenes were a big hit! Check out my website www.heatherrippert.com

Art, The Beach, my family, friends, my cat Rona, great food, great company, and rich and meaningful conversations!

sounds like your trip to N.Y. was successful, I've been represented by numerous galleries in new york and shown there many times, but never been there (always sent my work. Love your beach scenes, reminds me of trips I took to destin fla. Keep putting your foot in the door and make them take notice!

Thanks for visiting my work and for the friend request. I'm glad you enjoyed my masks. What's funny is I don't notice the "sometimes scary" until people mention it.

I did not have any books by Jack White, but I've always enjoyed reading his articles in Art Calendar. I took your advice and ordered "Mystery of Making It". I look forward to giving it a read. I'll probably start tonight during pauses while I paint.     -Don

Thanks for the kind words, Heather.  I too am glad we met at Art Expo.  Out of all the solo artists there, the Universe honed me right into your booth.  We were meant to meet and help expose a certain company for the huge scam that it is!

And I love your work-- the beach is a wonderful way to connect us to Mother Earth.  What better way to bring the tranquility into one's home?

Gorgeous watercolors...I felt I needed to wash the salt & sand out of my hair when I finished. Keep up the great work...and many continued successes.

Congratulations on your successful expo show! I had to write you a note because I am local to Marblehead and I know Gene Arnould personally and having revisited your gallery I know you will do well with him. He is located 1 block from Marblehead harbor and people love beach scenes and in the summer we get lots of tourists. I am sure you will continue to do well in his gallery. If you are ever in town, look me up and I would be happy to meet you.

Thank You for your kind comments about Rumi's Trees.  I was looking at your gallery yesterday and enjoying the way that you handle the shadows on the sand. Absolutely beautiful!  I see why they were successful at the expo.  Congratulations on that. Sounds like your on your way girl!

Hi Heather!

Nice to meet you. Congratulations on all of your ArtExpo success! What an exciting time! keep us updated on what happens with all your new contacts. I hope to see you there next year!

Your watercolors transport me right to the water's edge with sand in my toes. Thank you for the escape from my current wintery weather...

I like your website too!
