It was at L.A. City College where I took art classes that gave me the skills and the direction I needed to define my style. I have exhibited at the San Bernardino, Riverside,Ontario Museum of Art and History and more frequently at the Latino Art Museum in Pomona, California.
My paintings are intended to tell a story of the people I grew up with in El Salvador. Some of them were friends, some were relatives, and others were just people I would just see frequently in the streets. People were not tuned-in with technology that much in that part of the world, nor spent their free time watching television. In those days life was much simpler. It seemed that everybody had more time to relax, get together, or celebrate something. Our family used to walk at least five miles to visit relatives, which gave us the opportunity to appreciate the time with each other. These memories inspire me to paint.

Dark ,thick storm clouds, summer rain, tropical weather.

War,poverty, bigotry and indifference to these problems

Thank you for visitint my site again and sharing your thoughts on Nabu. I am glad I was able to convey the emotions of the child. Your work also provides with a sense of what means to be Latin American, such rich cultures, a lot of struggle, and fighting for survival...

Your work is fantastic!  Brilliant. I love the way you reveal yourself in these paintings, and the technique/title employed. Do you have a website? - Kathy

I really enjoy your painterly approach. The stories are intriguing.

Thank you for visiting my site, El panteon de posada is a intaglio print. I have thought of making it a painting, I will.

Ayway I like the title and the subject.  Mujeres is better than chicas, thanks for expanding my vocab.  Unfortunately my other word, "chingaderas", for which I never learned the literal translation, was reserved for loose tools and stray women.

Yes I do get inspired by the landscape.  I gre up in Calif. and I think that the hills there still tend to play in my imaginative landscapes.  My trip to Belieze was memorable, but hasn't shown up in any work....it must take a while to get into your blood.

Very nice work!  When I first saw your work, it reminded me of Luis Jiménez - not that your art is the same, just a reminder.  You have a great sense of composition, and I enjoy your facial expressions.  Your highlights are very fine...

Thank you!  I am continually amazed by the rich colors and moving portraits on your site.  The nativity you just posted is awesome.  I think of how the masters repainted biblical scenes in their contemporary garb, and see this image in that same vein.  Cup of coffee there below the angel-baby's wing?

Hi,   Thank you for visiting my site.  I am glad that you did, because I am so glad to see your work.  Your work is beautiful.  I look forward to learning more from your brush strokes and color.

I am curious about your little black bird friend.  Is there a story to him?

 Take care,

 Brian
