Well, I have been gone from here for a while, a lot has happened!

I got married on January 9th, 2009. We later found out that we are expecting and our little one is due August 17th, 2009!!

I am now officially a graduate of Marshall University. Now have my BFA in Photography/ Visual Arts. Considering going back after taking some time off to have my son. Probably going to go start on my MFA in Photography. Marshall offers an M.A in photo, so I'll do that program and then try to get into an MFA program to finish my degree. :)

I'm excited to start this next chapter in my life, but I am terrified I'll not be able to find a career in my field with only a B.F.A. I have loads of experience, but I need to develop more confidence in my work.

The new fence images are very interesting. I like the contrast of the wire vs. wood fences and the self portrait. That photograph, of course, has it's own fence tie-in to the rest.

Hope all is going well and good luck in the coming months.

Thank you Casey for your nice comment about my work. I hope you find Empty Easel helpful.

Thank you for visiting my gallery and your kind words on the photographs. I plan on sticking with traditional B&W until the material is either gone or too expensive to afford.

Jerry Uelsmann is an amazing artist although I don't know his wife's work. I'll have to look her up. He does things in a darkroom that are still better then many people do in photoshop.

I absolutely love your work. The close-up abstract body part work is terrific. I also looked at the images on your web site. I get the bloody body series but am not a fan of that kind of stuff. My personal issue.

I'll write a reply to your blog entry on career options.

Love the Bleeding hearts pic.  I live in the desert so I have never seen anything like that before.  Everything here has thorns.  What do you shoot with?
