I grew up in Kansas, experiencing the beauty of the Midwest, open pastures and gorgeous sunsets and sunrises, all of which inspire me to attempt to capture them in photos. I find the simple elegance of the black and white photo of the most interest. My photographs depict the beauty of some of the simple scenes that are often overlooked in the hectic schedules of daily life. I look for the obvious and find a different way of looking at it; often capturing unique and inviting scenes. My photography focuses on landscapes and wildlife, finding the interesting lines, patterns and composition. I have moved into the digital age using a Nikon D-70. Despite the opportunities digital presents for manipulation of photos, I strive to achieve the photo I want through the use of filters and the standard controls that have always been available.
