Classic Rock..Contemporary Jazz..Pink Floyd..Spyro Gyra..Chick Corea..Bela Fleck and the Flecktones..Led Zepplin..Journey..et al..

Anything on Art technique, for colored pencil, esp.,and painting of fur and photos of animals, esp., the big cats, for reference..And cookbooks, for grilling, to get great ideas for rubs, or sauces, and cookbooks of all other types! But a personal fav is "bad cat" by Jim Edgar, a paperback full of hilarious photos of cats w/great captions! (No, not LOL cats, this is better!)

Whatever my Husband (Den) rents, and I pay NO attention to....Most memorable one that I watched yes, watched, found the movie interesting.."Silence Of The Lambs"..We lived in a very small place, and our fridge was about 8 feet from where we were watching...I was thawing the freezer, and at a really tense moment of the movie, a huge chunk of ice came crashing down!

I'm an Artist, coming back, after 20+ years...frustrated, because I'm hesitant (Does that make sense?)I start a work, and if it isn't going well, I put it up..Meanwhile, I'm happily married, have 2 kits, orange tabbies, sisters..I live in Central Florida, transplant from Cincinnati, Ohio..Oh, about 21 years ago..Times were "interesting" to say the least, week to week, I would be at work (bartend) and my Hub would call to let me know we were moving,again..we were living in boarding houses then, and trying to establish "roots". Tough situation, so Art took a back burner..Then it bubbled to the surface, at different times, but just wasn't nutured..Until now, I wish to create, but I'm stuck in "idle".. I subscribed to ArtCalendar, to hopefully give me a bit of a kick, To see how to sell, and how others are selling..And I joined this site, to try and put myself "out there" one of my biggest anxieties, and overcome my fear of rejection of my Art....And to get some suggestions from other Artists, and tips on various mediums..

Spontaneity, in life and in Art..Comedy! A must have!.. Autumn's collage of color..The ocean's blend of blues, and greens....When a work just "comes together"!

Injustice..(I'm a Libra, can't help it)..Rude people, mean people (Why be hateful? Makes no sense, being negative)

Art is my hobby now, I hope to bring it back into a more serious endeavor again..I just need to learn the discipline again..Balance work and home and Art..

I inquired if we can delete any works from the Main Gallery, and no, we can't, so my montage of pics for the Mermaid, went to the Gallery...Some odd stuff, most won't understand...Well, maybe some will come to visit, to see what's going on!

Hi Jen, Thanks for the congrats. I know what you mean, I paint for me. Anything that comes from it is icing on the cake. The band Buckcherry has a quote in their song So Far which goes, "I didn't do it for money / I did it all for free / I did it all to fill the "f"ing hole inside of me." That's why I paint.   -Don

I've been adding alot of my mermaid drawings, now that I know how, for my mixed media piece...It's an acrylic wash/wcolored pencils...I have 2 works on my wall, both...fail... just to show what I'm doing.. Then I went for the landscapes, to loosen up..To remind myself I'm an Artist, and after all these years, I can do it...Guess what! I can! That's what keeps me going!

Jeanette, You're quite welcome. I wish I could help more... It does sound like the editing system you're using may be one of your biggest problems. Try following the step-by-step I typed out earlier using Windows Picture & Fax Viewer and Windows Paint. This may be a viable solution...but, no promises

Thanks for your comments on my work. I appreciate your insights on my choices for the subject matter. And, yes, as you noticed, I do LOVE color - and lots of it...

Happy Painting!   -Don

I'm not sure why it only worked once for you... Here are a couple troubleshooting ideas, hopefully they'll help. 1) Make sure the image you want to post is a jpeg. 2) Make sure your image isn't too large. I usually post images less than 1MB in size.

Let me know what the issues are when you try to post. ie.: The process you're going thru... What, if any, error messages there may be... Anything that could help troubleshoot your problem.

Good luck,   -Don
