I was born in Mexico City, Mexico during the 60’s. I studied Art at Wright State University. My life is full of experiences that have allowed me to develop as an artist. Being born in Mexico has embedded great fondness for what most people would label as morbid images. Mexican art is a mixture of pre-Hispanic images blended with the graphic, and sometimes terrifying, images of a bleeding and battered Jesus. The horrendous realities of constant war and political instability that the country experienced from 1810 to the 1930’s were the inspiration of many great artists. Some wanted to use their artistic abilities to attest to the brutal every day life in Mexico. Others used their art to express their political opinions. When I paint or create sculptures I see a fusion of influences from my native country. Jose Maria Velasco and his landscapes, Posada and his morbid sense of humor, Diego Rivera and his desire to show us the harsh reality of the life of the Mexican peasants oppressed by the bourgeoisie, and Frida Kahlo, who painted from the heart in order for us to sense her physical and psychological torture.

Art Supplies, books and Home depot.

My whole life is lived as a hobby. I enjoy every breath I take.

Good paintings, Gabriela!  I thought "Dead Che" was very powerful, and your new landscapes are very well done.  Good eye, good touch.  Hope to see more!

Hey Gabriel,

I was wondering what happened to you.  I see you have been busy.  As I mentioned before I am a native of Suffolk, VA.  I recently participated in a members show at Suffolk Art league.  It great to see you are working hard.  I haven't create any new work lately, but there will be some new stuff posted soon.
