I'm a third-generation artist from Belmont, Massachusetts. Currently, I live in Texas. By mid-2008, I plan to be back in the northeast.

I generally paint landscapes -- en plein air -- and use oil paints. For me, color is vital to my work; it's probably the single most distinctive element in my art. However, contrast is also important to me.

Right now, my biggest artistic challenge is simplifying my compositions and working on much bigger canvases.

I am a full time artist. In my spare time, I write for books, magazines, and websites... when I'm not traveling, learning more about history, visiting art galleries & museums, and discovering letterboxes.

I'm in a happy and committed relationship with a wonderful man (who is also an artist), and I have three great children.

Memberships: International Plein Air Painters, Concord Art Association (MA), York Art Association (ME), and NH Plein Air. I'm also a member of EBSQ Plus (juried).

You can see my art at EileenMorey.com.

Wow Eilen, really beautiful work,  it must have been so wonderful to be in a family of artists!  Your work is clearly very professional and really satisfying.  how often do you paint?  Sandy

Hi Eileen! I just went to your website and saw that we have quite a few things in common. Not only do we both paint en plein air, but I have summered in Rye my whole life! I live in NH now, but I was in Baltimore for 10 years and I really missed New England. Good luck moving back to the East!

Hey Eileen, thanks for the 'friends' request.  I checked out your website and love your work - especially the paintings from Ireland.  My wife and I would love to go bike through Ireland and Italy and .... at least we got to New Zealand.  I'm going to get out and do that Plein air thing this spring.  Keep up the great work!

I am a slow learner on computers.  I usually get in these pages and look around most days but don't always have the time to do alot of exploring.  Sunday is kind of my day.  I will be doing a Quick Draw at a GOP fundraiser tonight.  Should be interesting.  I am not really a republican or a Democrat so we take it one election at a time.  But anyway think this will be an interesting experience.  All our senaters will be there.

Thank you for your wonderful comments.  I love your use of color, just gorgeous.  I do like the old fashioned Regency Romances.  No sex, just very funny.  But I want to try the artist you suggested.  I would like to be your friend but have never figured out how to do that.  You have one up on me.  If you would let me know I would love to be your friend.   Pat
