From Private Banker to Private Art Collections

Investment Specialist Delilah Smith says,” The challenge of maximizing return on principal will never compare to mixing the correct pigments in order to evoke my feelings on canvas. Color is not enough I need to connect to the hearts of those who view my paintings. I am a passionate painter of color and emotions. My former work as an Investment Specialist refined the discipline I need to work with fiery colors and passionate brush work.”

In 2005 Delilah decided to chose her dreams and become the artist, she desperately wanted to be since her college days. There is something sobering when one day you look up and realize your life is slipping away, vanishing and you are no closer to your dreams then you were in 1976. Few would leave a successful business to pursue a passion. Few are like Delilah who has soared to the top in all that she has put her mind to.

More than technique or design, it is color that makes a Delilah step off the wall into the hearts of the viewer. Delilah says of her paintings, Color is the language that speaks to everyone. I use color in my conversations with the canvas. Some conversations are like shooting matches and some are tranquil and serene. Michigan is the home of Delilah. It is the need to make art and find her voice that drives her; a voice that will let you listen with your eyes. To own a Delilah is to own part of her exceptional drive and desire to be the best that she can be each and every time she steps up to the easel. Talent linked with passion is the magic that you will discover in a Delilah.Delilah blogs daily at http://paintingoftheday.blogspot.com

Thanks so much for the "WOW" comment on my wave painting, Delilah :). Now, if you'll just send over the candy corn....yum!

Cheers, Sandy

Hey Delilah,

Thanks for the comment on "Breath of Fresh Air". That one is hanging in a juried exhibition in at Cape Fear Gallery in Fayetteville, NC for the next couple weeks.

Yeah! Another Stevie Ray Vaughn fan!!! I still miss him and really experience 'the blues' when I have one of his albums on. I was fortunate to have seen him perform 3 times between '83 and '89.

Happy Painting,   -Don

Hi Delila-thanks for your comment on my painting.  I love particularly your last 3 flower paintings, and also the pickle in the glass.  But the flower paintings are very surreal looking, kind of dream-like, which really appeals to me.

Thank you for the nice comment. I really enjoy looking at your work. But have been wondering for a while about "Cucumber Martini" and now "Orange scissors". Is there a story behind them?
