Not much to say, really. Since I can remember, I've been busy doing art. I was taught ‘on the job’ through most of my life by mentors. Most recently my training has been by master painters Brian Davis and David A. Leffel. I have sincere gratitude for the joy in creating beauty through my work and to share the insights it brings with my students and other artists.

I love to teach the fundamentals that have been overlooked for so long here in the US. My classes include, Learning Color and Color Theory, Painting 1 - Oils, Painting 2 - Oils, Composition: the basics through Dynamic Symmetry, Plein Air - Capturing the light, Perspective Drawing and Learning to Draw.

I'm represented by New Masters Gallery in Carmel California. www.newmastersgallery.com

Hi Dave

Your work is really great! one of the best galleries that I have seen here!  The surreal colors are super.  Keep up the good work!

It was funny to realize that most of the pictures that caught my attention randomly were yours. Great minds walk through the same path (as they say in my country). I asked about the clouds because I know how hard they are to catch, they move to fast to mix and hit value and form at the same time. Here in Chicago Ive been exposed to amazing cloud scenes and dramatic sunsets, the only good things about the plane and flat lands.

 Keep creating. Best regards.

Emilia

Hi David, I hadn't seen any of your work for a while. Maybe I just missed it. It's good to see some again.

Best, Alston

Thanks for your comment on my family tree.  The whole sky was done by layer after layer of spatter. It's tedious, but "safer" than trying to mix my colors and get them to go where I want.  I'll get it. Thanks for the advice.
