If I can't paint or draw, I read. Mostly art books and inspirational books. Artists need to feed their heads so as not to get in the way of the heart.

I picked up a paint brush during an extended illness as a child. I haven't stopped painting since. I have been a graphic designer, an advertising art director, artist coop director, and a muralist. I closed my mural business in June of 2007 to concentrate on my painting, which had been suffering from 60 hour work weeks painting everything from desert landscapes to the very popular Tuscan scenes and still lifes. Walking away from a profitable business was difficult. My husband thought I was NUTS and my clients continue to call to try to talk me into painting "just one more".
I am honored to be a part of artscuttlebutt artists and look forward to seeing all of your work and watching for comments on mine
HAPPY PAINTING/SHOOTING/SCULPTING TO EVERYONE

Music touches my soul as much as visual art. I enjoy a wide variety of music depending on my mood - everything from "oldies" to blues to bluegrass (some old country) to classical guitar and piano. I like to explore art museums and am sort of a history buff. I love to experiment with textures and color in my work to see where it will lead me next.

Snobs. Lying.

When people ask me what do I do for a living - I answer, I paint.
When people ask me what I do in my spare time - I answer, I paint.
When people ask me what do I do for fun - I answer, I paint.

Cyndy, thank you for your comment. I looked at all your paintings and can see that we respond to the same things. Your Color VII was astounding. I love the little color blocks you have inserted. I started out as a weaver, spinner and cloth dyer, so color means everything to me. Enjoy!

Hi Cyndy, thanks for your friends request and the kind comments about my work. Art, like music and many other things no doubt, is a never ending process of discovery. I love the way it stills my mind  and how the time just flows past when I'm working on a painting or a song. Warm wishes from OZ, Lina

Love love love your skies!!! I assume you are using photos as a reference  because skies change so quickly, but how true do you stay to the photo...are you really pushing (exagerating)  the colors ? I ask because Im usually afraid to vear too much from what ever reference im looking at.

Very nice work. I like the landscapes with the abstract background. Nice approach.
