I am an artist living learning and laughing on the Northwest Coast of North America.I have recently found my "voice"using the encaustic process;painting with beeswax and damar resin as my medium on wood panels. More of my work Can be seen at www.gerberart.com

Thank you for your comments.

I did some encaustic work with candles and crayons, along long time ago. I am really impressed with your images. Are you using damar just for surface or are you mixing? I belong to Experimential artist and Collage Society. I like to experiment with mixing mediums  with a 75% rate of failure but once and awhile something totally new emerges. If you would like imformation about the groups let me know because your art required an appreciative venue.

Thanks for your positive comments.  I love your colors and textures as well and I've always been intrigued by encaustic.  I, too, try to push the envelope to see what can be done with acrylic products and what other media can be included with it.

Hi Chris,

Your work is stunning - I was especially drawn to your Quantum Beach Series. I poked around your website in search of show info - do you have any coming up soon?

Thanks for stopping by. Your use of heavy layering really adds a unique dimension to the work (literally and figuratively). Seems we both have a fondness for extreme proportions. I'll have to follow up on the Seattle recommendation.

Thanks, Matt

Hey Chris, unfortunatly I was not part of making the move "Seven Samurai" even though I whould of loved to. The piece was done for a digital pen and ink class and we had to chose a black and white film to do 8 color keys for, I posted 2 of them. But thanks for the complament ^_^. Take care and enjoy creating! Chow~
