I am currently working in Batik and love it.
visit my website at www.cataylor.com for more images

Batik is a lot of fun because it is somewhat unpredictable. I love the spontaneity and the colors!
I'd love to hear from other Batik artists out there!

Nature- a bright sunny day especially, but also a calm rainy day...color and contrast
I love the Ocean!

rudeness and selfishness
people who show no patience towards others and are quick to judge, call names or flip the gesture

poor presentation on an otherwise fine piece of art

art, art and more art,
music, though I dont play--
walking in the woods,
snowshoeing

Hi Chris,,,yes it is freezing here in MN...actually now it is warming up to 40 and we are all nuts-running out with no coats on and now I am seeing people out shopping in shorts. Yep...we Minnesota people are a different breed.  I on the other hand, would love to retire and set up a nice studio where it is warm and I can paint with the windows open all year long.!

Thank you for your comment on my work. Funny, but I am drawn to your yellow Iris as well. I have never done Batik, but I notice in your work that it helps add dimension and interest. I would love top hear more about the process.

Hi Chris:

I have another 10 or 11 pieces I need to add. I will try to get them added before the end of the week. Thanks for asking. It will motivate me to get my new stuff added sooner. I checked your new pieces. They look great. I love the birds.

Your work is beautiful and I love Dire Straits!

What would you like to know about my work? I use several types of dyes and resists. Seems like I just gotta try the next thing. I work on clothing because it allows me to be creative in a way that sells in this small community that I live in. I also really like the unpredicatability of tie dye aka Shibori.  I love watercolors too but I can only sell and store so many.

Don't know where you get your supplies but Dharma Trading is a great source. They are in the bay area which is not too far from where I live.

nice chatting with you, Diana from Nice, pronounced the French way

Hi Chris:

Thank you for your comments about my art. It is always good to hear when one is doing something others appreciate. I've added new images today and hope to be a more active participant in artscuttlebut.

I looked at your gallery and love the work. It has so much expression and feeling. I tend to be so detailed, I really envy people who can paint less detail and more expression. Great work.

Thanks for the kind words.  I love batik too!  I actually just returned from Bali and was able to visit a batik studio and see the artists in action.  Your batiks are lovely!
