About Drawing
I would rather draw than anything else and welcome pencil portrait commissions. Although I work primarily in black and white... "Not everything is black and white."

My preferred medium is charcoal on Bristol paper and I also enjoy working in Caran d'Ache Aquarelle and mixed media. I am particularly interested in exploring scriptural references to art and artists.

I continue to work both representationally and abstractly using the portrait, figure, living creatures and their artifacts, nature, and still life as my impetus. I marvel at God's creation. I am a Christian believer inspired by the Holy Spirit. My mission is:
• To honor God through the creation and marketing of my artwork;
• To compassionately serve others by meeting their individual needs for beauty, meaning, and personal growth through my artwork;
• Ultimately, that the attention of those who view my artwork will be drawn toward God and that they will see Him through my art.

I'm Experimenting with Movies
There's nothing more enjoyable than experimenting with new art forms... and a couple of nights ago, I began experimenting with the iMovie application on my new MAC! In the life of the ARTIST (that would be me), one thing leads to the next, hmmmm... and here's what happened. I created a short movie, "Painting Fantasy Parrot Tulips," about a Caran d'Ache Aquarelle (watercolour) painting that I'm working on taken from "Tulipa III," an image that I have previously drawn in charcoal pencil that is in my gallery here.

Then, I created my new Art Video Journal: CarolsNewArtTimes (my new YouTube site), and uploaded the movie. Quickly realizing what fun I've been missing, I created 3 more movies. I realize that they are simply quick studies... they need the ambient sound deleted and perhaps music and/or VOs added... but I'll be interested in your views on them. They are "Tulipa Series," "Pencil Portraits" and "Experimental Film-Preshy." You can view them on CarolsNewArtTimes at: YouTube

Please E-mail me at: CarolTaylorBlackandWhite@yahoo.com
with your comments... I'm eager to know your impressions, and thank you for visiting my CarolDraws Gallery.

I enjoy drawing, drawing w/paint, painting, the seashore and the 4 seasons, good conversation w/friends and family, and non-fiction writing.
