Two years ago at a fundraising auction, my husband bid on and won (for me) a day of painting lessons with an artist in our area. That was my first introduction to watercolor painting and I fell in love with the medium. I have so much to learn, but my painting classes are the highlight of my week.

Thank you, Carmela, for your comment about my painting.  Cape Ann is so gorgeous.  My daughter lives in Gloucester (manages the Atomic Cafe in Beverly!) so I get to see the area every time I visit.  So beautiful on the North Shore.  One day I'll retire there and become a North Shore Artist.  That would be lovely.  Enjoy your painting classes!

Carmela, thanks for the comments on the pastel. I recently tried them out- borrowed some pastels and did a one day workshop here in Texas. I think I like pastels. I plan on trying it again.

Congratulations on your reception. Hope it goes very well!

Thank you so much for your comments on my pen & ink.  I just visited your gallery.  For a young artist, you have done well.  Keep it up and have fun......colleen

Carmela, How are you?  Are you surviving winter??  Been doing much painting? how's your painting group?  I've been busy with work, and doing jewelry and supporting a friend who is starting a jewelry business.  Check out her lampwork and borosicilcate pendants on my website, www.sandymedearis.com they are awesome! Hope you are well, Sandy

Carmela, thank you for visiting my gallery and taking the time to send a compliment!  I always appreciate it when other artists find my work appealing...we all need encouragement, especially when we keep clobbering paper with no discernable improvement.  For having only been painting for 2 years, you have made significant progress and have tackled subjects (Surfer and Maui Storm) that a lot of us fellow watercolorists would not try.  But the best surprise is your sketch of Emily!  You must try this in watercolor!  Nobody will know if you don't like it and, afterall, it is just paper.  Give it a go!

Thanks for the comment on my "Thousand Island Park-Spring Day". As you wondered about the view from inside the house it is great, as it sist on the shoreline of the St Lawrence Seaway with passing freighters, recreation boat traffic and Rock Island Light House. Thousan Island Park has over a hundred year history with an inexhaustible amount of gingerbrtead homes as artistic subjects. Youir tree paintings are my favorites and inspire me to get on with a series of trees i want to paint. So much to do and so little time.
