Mystery such as Agatha Christie, Tony Hillerman and Lillian Jackson Braun. Sci-Fi Fantasy like the Dragon Riders of Pern, and Mercedes Lackey Companion series. And some historical books on Scotland for my genealogy as well as books on the old west. And art books on watercolor painting or the old masters.

Anything by Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford or Sean Connery. Blade Runner, the Star Wars Series, Star Trek series, all the Harry Potters, Eragon, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, 3:10 to Yuma and most movies except newer horror movies.

I have been in the art field in some form ever since I can remember. My High School art teacher made us try all different kinds of art from silk screening to jewelry making and every thing in between plus we listened to poetry and classical music. I did get side tracked into the field of Graphics for many years and did ads for a weekly arts paper and the infamous Auto Trader publications.
In '95 I was diagnosed with MS and left my full time job in '02 when things became too stressful. In '03 I went back to a local Community College to take up watercolor painting at the urging of a teacher/friend I had 30 years before. Because of the MS I lost the use of my dominant right hand I began to teach my left how to do what the right used to. In mid-Sept '07 I had to stop driving so a friend drove me to college until the semester was finished.
Now she comes over every Tues to paint together and I use mornings when I have a lot of energy to do my painting. When I'm in the "zone" all those aches and pains disappear for awhile. I use photographs I've taken over the years and even ones given to me by friends and family. (with their permission)
I have won two honorable mentions and one blue ribbon from the anual juried student art show at GCC. I am a member of the AWA (Arizona Watercolor Association) and have had 1 piece juried into our annual membership show but did not win anything. But there's always next year!
I love watercolor's look and the way it lets me glaze to get depth and texture to what I'm painting. I love the confidence and the pleasure it gives me to create a piece of art.

Western movies, Harry Potter, dragons, books, Mexican Food, dark chocolate, the smell of rain, the ocean, traveling and music.

Mean people, rudness, traffic jams and politcs (but I know they're necessary!)

Painting, genealogy, sewing and reading. And I used to do 1800s old west reenactment wearing clothes I made to look like the real thing.
