Over the years Artman Greg has utilized a variety of media in his work, including oils, watercolor, collage, and photography, but scratchboard is his favorite medium. "I love the way scratchboard emphasizes the dramatic contrasts between black and white. Working with scratchboard gives me a connection to my art that I don't always get with other mediums. I like making art that is thought-provoking and interesting to look at."

The art scene is up and coming in Red Bank and in Monmouth County in general.  Middletown opened up a gallery that is artacting some local talent but its still well in its infancy.  The antique scene is much more profound; antiques and curious are at the heart of Red Bank, along with good dining.

Like your scratchboard pieces. I would love to see you do acrylic paintings, limiting your colors to just black and white. Your subject matter is so grand and expressive, I would love to see some of that come out in your medium and process. Food for thought...

Great to meet you ArtManGreg.  Your work is so expressive... I especially love the conductor and visual representation of music.  I have always thought of a painter as a conductor of a symphony.  I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi ArtmanGreg!  Your work is exciting.  Great designs!  Regarding "Native Son", he is still young enough to look to the future with hope, but there is a resignation in those eyes as well the fact that his way of life is changing dramatically.  Warmest regards, Lucinda

Mr. Gregory...one thing I don't like to do is drive, just because something freaky like a wayward deer can cause an unexpected accident, and my faith gets weak when I think of smashed-up cars!  Praise God that you are left in one piece...as well as everyone else involved!  (Maybe not the deer, though)!  I was reading about your scratchboard adventures...and it is something that requires skill and precision...that's why you stand by yourself on that.  I did a few small pieces...and it's fun and challenging, but I think I will allow you to be the master of that medium, and I will sit back and watch for your submissions on the artscuttlebutt gallery.

Thank you for your nice comments on my work. I have never thought of Maize in terms of chocolate before. That's pretty funny. She is actually a 36" diameter ceramic table top mounted on an antique pedestal leg. I too am a fan of antiques. Usually I restore them but if they are too far gone I go the salvage route and re-purpose the usable parts.

Thanks for the compliment. I like your work to. I have a couple of scratchboard works, but nothing as wonderful as yours. I'll have to check out more of your work.

Thanks for the compliment of my flower photos. I love photography and love cameras. I take pictures whenever I feel inspired or something grabs me. I love taking pictures to capture memories. I basically take pictures as a way of journal "writing". I haven't thought of submitting any photos. What is a stock photography website?
