Jim Harrison: Dalva and The Road Home and everything else by him.
And many others too numerous to mention, also Poetry, the love of my life!

Young@Heart, the best documentary I've ever seen.
Children of a Lesser God, wonderful eloquent movie about a deaf woman and a hearing teacher of the deaf.

I love my job teaching adolescents, watching them become the people they will be. As I have passed the 50 year mark I have a strong sense of time running out and the need to live every moment and to do all the things I want to, one of which is to create and sell my art. I derive great solace from my family of four children and my husband to whom I am still happily married after 24 years.
On the darker side, I worry constantly about all the things in my turn-off list!

Love, my family, books of every description, memory, trees, birds in all their glory, friends, kindness, green growing things and Spring blossoms, swimming in the sea, color, elephant societies, avocados, curiosity, Rooibos tea, sitting on the roof, chameleons, creating beautiful pictures or sculptures or quilts or winter woolly hats...

hypocrisy, fundamentalist religion of any kind, cruelty towards animals and other human beings, violence, shallow people, ignorance, the Bush govt., abuse of the earth, jealousy, consumerism gone crazy, anxiety about money...
